2026 Board Candidates

Meet 2026 WCNCR Board Candidates

Maura Fox

Maura M. Fox (Re-election)

My name is Maura Fox, WG’95, and I am one of the founders of our vibrant alumni club.

Vision:

My WCNCR vision is to continue building on the intellectual breadth, alumni reach and inclusiveness of our community. I think we can all be proud of our civic mindedness, intellectual explorations, mentoring, and networking.  We are now 300+ in membership, with 500+ in our LinkedIn community.  DC is an important international hub, we have so many industries represented. We have a mail list of 5000+.  I’d like to continue our growth and capture the attention and engagement of those unserved alumni.  Specifically, I’d appreciate the opportunity to deepen ties with Wharton Alumni led businesses, and seek participation and sponsorships with the business community.

Skills/Qualifications/Diversity of thought:

I am a Growth Strategist, and in that capacity, I am often leading businesses or projects that reach across geographies, languages, industry segments, and functionalities. It takes a team to be successful.  I love the American Baseball analogy - you need all the players, and you need a player/coach who can generate excitement about a shared vision and orchestrate the many moving parts to success.  I have been recruited to serve on two impactful global Industry Standards Boards - AI for Aviation and Digital Mobile Phones.  In both, I was recruited due to my skill to achieve collaboration amongst often competitor players, and to create an environment where the greater good can prevail.

Accomplishments on behalf of WCNCR:

Successfully championed a 10 year lobbying of the university to support the establishment of WCNCR. I led DC Wharton Walnut Walks for 12 yrs - to build local awareness and deepen ties with the university. I have championed events in every year of WCNCR, including through the pandemic. On BoD, I have served as COMMS Chair, and Programming co-Chair.

Vision:

The Wharton alumni community in the National Capital Region is uniquely positioned to lead at a time when AI is reshaping industries, leadership roles, and the future of work. As a WCNCR board member, I would like to help expand programming that equips alumni to understand AI’s business impact, govern it responsibly, and lead change within their organizations. Given our location in the Washington region, I also see an opportunity for WCNCR to convene thoughtful conversations among alumni across business, policy, and technology to strengthen the club’s relevance and engagement.

Skills & Qualifications:

As Chief Digital Officer at a global consulting firm, I advise Fortune 500 organizations on digital transformation, data, and AI strategy. I work across executive teams to align stakeholders, influence change, and translate emerging technologies into practical business outcomes. As a board member of the Sikh Human Development Foundation, I helped define the organization’s digital strategy to improve operational scalability and donor engagement. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya also reinforced in me the importance of resilience, humility, teamwork, and empathy.

Diversity of Thought:

I bring a collaborative mindset, a bias for action, and a global perspective shaped by living in four countries and traveling widely. These experiences have taught me that diverse viewpoints, when united by a shared purpose, lead to stronger decisions, a deeper sense of community, and greater impact.

Vision
My vision is to strengthen the WCNCR community as a high-value, career-accelerating network by deepening engagement across both in-person and digital channels. I aim to expand programming that is practical and forward-looking, particularly in areas like AI’s impact on work, evolving career paths, and leadership development. I would also like to enhance how we leverage platforms like LinkedIn to spotlight alumni, share insights, and create more continuous touchpoints beyond events. Ultimately, I see WCNCR as a hub where alumni actively exchange ideas, access relevant expertise, and build meaningful professional relationships.

Skills & Qualifications
Professionally, I bring a strong background in people strategy, HR, and organizational development, with a focus on aligning talent practices to business outcomes. My contributions to the board have centered on strategic thinking, content ideation, and communications—particularly enhancing our LinkedIn presence and shaping programming around career growth, the future of work, and AI. I am experienced in translating complex topics into accessible, actionable discussions that resonate with a broad audience. I also bring a practical, execution-oriented mindset to ensure ideas turn into tangible member value.
Diversity of Thought
I offer a perspective grounded in the intersection of people strategy, business transformation, and emerging technology. My focus on HR and AI brings a practical understanding of how work is changing and what professionals need to stay competitive. I also prioritize accessibility and relevance—ensuring programming resonates across different career stages and industries.

Accomplishments on behalf of WCNCR:
Since joining the board in 2024, I have supported strategy development, enhanced communications, including LinkedIn presence, and contributed ideas for programming focused on HR, career growth, and AI. I have worked to make content more actionable and aligned with evolving member interests.

  1. Personal Statement
  • Vision:
    • I hope to strengthen the sense of community and belonging within the Wharton alumni network in DC. This starts with creating intentional opportunities for connection through targeted events, programming, and facilitating informal communication channels. I would also focus on adding more structure to alumni engagement by developing a consistent events calendar, streamlining communications such as newsletters, and introducing lightweight automation where appropriate. Paired with post-event engagement surveys, this would allow us to better understand member interests and tailor programming accordingly. The goal is a more connected, responsive, and vibrant alumni community.
  • Skills & Background:
    • Previous Board Experience
      • Former University of Chicago Black Alumni Board Vice President; Wharton Black MBA Association Careers Committee; Former VP of Alumni for Wharton FinTech Club
      •  I’m passionate about creating community and my experience supporting and leading alumni organizations provides a good understanding of how boards operate, from driving engagement to coordinating across stakeholders.
    • Board Operations & Planning
      •  Experience building and supporting alumni event programming, improving outreach processes, and creating structure to drive more efficient board operations.
      • I have experience helping boards create systems to streamline execution and refine initiatives over time.
    • Relationship Building
      • Background in strategy/consulting with a strong ability to engage across generations and build trust quickly. I’m a people person, and building genuine connections is a central part of my career and something I truly enjoy. As a board member, I would focus on facilitating relationships that translate into sustained participation and a strong sense of community.
  • Diversity of Thought:
    • I would contribute both perspective and connectivity to the Board. Having served on multiple alumni boards, I can share best practices and help implement approaches that improve effectiveness. As a recent alum, I also remain closely connected to the younger alumni community and can facilitate insight into their interests/engagement preferences. I see this as an opportunity to help bridge newer graduates with the broader alumni network in a meaningful way.

My vision is to continue to strengthen the Wharton Club of the National Capital Region as a highly engaged, professionally valuable, and personally meaningful community for alumni. I believe the Club has a strong foundation and I see an opportunity to further deepen engagement by complementing existing events with more structured, peer-driven communities and personalized experiences.

A key priority would be to establish a “CFO Network/Business Council” within the Club—bringing together current CFOs, senior finance leaders, and those aspiring to such roles. Drawing on my experience as a CFO and my experience as a founding member of FSuite, a CFO networking group, I would aim to create a trusted forum for mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and candid dialogue on topics such as capital allocation, strategic finance, IPO readiness and leadership. More broadly, I would look to introduce curated small-group formats focused on common topics of interest via executive roundtables, small team dinners, and peer circles — to foster deeper, more sustained relationships that complement larger events.

In addition, I would prioritize strengthening social and personal connectivity by being proactive about intentional pathways for engagement including outreach to newer or less-active alumni, to ensure a more inclusive and cohesive community.

I bring a multidisciplinary perspective shaped by a career spanning public equity investing (as a portfolio manager) and operating leadership roles (as a CFO and a Board member), as well as experience across public and private capital markets.

Equally important, I have benefited from strong professional networks throughout my career and am committed to building environments where alumni feel comfortable sharing experiences, learning from one another, and forming lasting relationships.

Finally, I would welcome the opportunity to contribute in a leadership capacity, including as Treasurer, bringing financial discipline and strategic oversight to support the Club’s continued growth and impact.

Traveling around the world and Skiing as often as possible with my family are my favourite pastimes.

Vision

My goal on the Board is straightforward: make sure the chapter works well and works for everyone. That means operational health, a sustainable membership base, and programming that reflects the full range of who our alumni are. I have spent my career in an industry that has historically underrepresented women, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community, and I have taken on board and leadership roles specifically to change that. I would bring the same orientation here, especially given the current environment, where the instinct to pull back on inclusion work is exactly the wrong response.

Skills and Qualifications

I have 20+ years of experience founding studios, running global partnerships, and advising company CEOs and boards on growth, investment, and operations. I co-founded ZeniMax Online Studios, which created Elder Scrolls Online and surpassed $2B in revenue. I led global games partner strategy at AWS, growing the ecosystem 10x in two years. Through my consultancy, Operations Catalyst, I have served as a fractional COO to early-stage game studios, with direct responsibility for business planning, team structure, and financial operations.

On the board governance side: I served as Treasurer and then Chair of the IGDA Board of Directors, the largest global association of game developers, where I helped reverse a 20% annual deficit and deliver a 10% surplus within twelve months. I also served as Vice Chair of the RDCA Board of Directors.

Diversity of Thought

I am an entertainment technology executive based in the Washington, D.C. area, which puts me in a distinct minority. Most of my peers in the games and interactive media industry are on the West Coast. My career sits at the intersection of entertainment, technology, and entrepreneurship, a combination that is uncommon in the NCR professional community and, I suspect, underrepresented on the current Board. I also bring a practitioner's perspective on building and advising early-stage companies, which may be useful in designing programming that speaks to alumni navigating entrepreneurial paths.

Ellis Rosenberg

Ellis Rosenberg

As a proud Wharton graduate (WG’94, Master of Business Administration in Marketing) and former WCNCR board member, I am excited to re-engage in service to a community that has been deeply meaningful to me. One of my favorite Wharton events—Walnut Walk—captures what makes the Wharton community special: connection, energy, and shared experience. My vision is to help WCNCR bring that same spirit to life through consistently high-impact programming that strengthens professional growth, fosters authentic relationships, and builds a vibrant, inclusive alumni network across the National Capital Region.

I would focus on expanding signature events that blend career advancement with personal enrichment by bringing together alumni across industries and career stages for learning, mentorship, and meaningful dialogue. I would also support modernizing member engagement through targeted outreach and data-driven insights, while building a financially sustainable WCNCR.

Professionally, I bring extensive experience in marketing and communications, revenue growth, strategic partnerships, and building scalable programs across corporate and nonprofit environments. I have led cross-functional teams, developed national initiatives, and driven over $400 million in new revenue through strategic alignment and execution. My prior board service—including WCNCR and other nonprofits—has prepared me to contribute immediately as a collaborative, working board member.

Outside of work, I enjoy travel, exercise, yoga, and learning to play pickleball—interests that reinforce my belief in lifelong learning, wellness, and community. I look forward to bringing that same energy to WCNCR.
