2026 ELECTION TIMELINE

  • March 23 – April 15: Candidate Application Period (Self-Nomination)

  • April 20 – May 4: Voting Period

  • May 5 – May 11: Notifications and New Board Announcement

 

BOARD APPLICATION (Self-Nomination)

Members of the Wharton Club of the National Capital Region (WCNCR) in good standing may self-nominate for a Board seat, provided the nomination complies with the rules established in the Club’s bylaws regarding re-election term limits.

The Board of the WCNCR is a working board. Volunteer members share various responsibilities, such as:

  • Proposing and organizing alumni events

  • Managing membership drives

  • Conducting community outreach

  • Supporting communications and website management

The ideal candidate shares our passion for engaging with and supporting the Wharton community in the greater Washington D.C. area, is collaborative, and is willing to contribute actively. No prior board experience is required.

Note on Officer Positions: Vacancies for Board Officer positions (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary) are determined during the first official meeting of the new Board. Successors are chosen from among Board members in accordance with the Club’s bylaws.

  • Vision: Share your vision for what you would like to accomplish while on the Board and any ideas you have to better engage the Wharton Alumni Community in the National Capital Region.

  • Skills & Qualifications: Summarize special skills acquired from employment, previous volunteer/board work, or other activities (including hobbies or sports) that could benefit the WCNCR.

  • Diversity of Thought: Share any aspects of your background or experience that you feel would add to the composition or functionality of the Board.

  • For Re-election Candidates: Please describe your specific contributions to the WCNCR during your prior term as a Board member.
