A New Affinity Group of the Wharton Club of the National Capital Region

The Wharton Club NCR Compass Pro Bono Affinity Group connects Wharton MBA Alumni to skilled volunteerism and leadership development opportunities with Compass pro bono consulting projects.

The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania is a Compass Partner Business School where Compass partners with local business school alumni clubs in recruiting MBAs for Compass pro bono consulting project teams and other Compass programs.

Compass’ mission is to inspire business professionals to engage with their local nonprofits to transform communities.

Services: Providing over $55 million of pro bono consulting services since 2001, Compass Greater Washington serves the greater region including suburban Maryland and Northern Virginia.

  • Consulting:Two options for team-based consulting projects: (1) Classic Projects which run from late September through May; and (2) Micro Projects which run from late January through May.
  • Thought Partner and On Demand Consulting Programs: A response to the Covid-19 crisis to address a single issue for a nonprofit.
  • On Board: Matching business professionals with nonprofits seeking qualified board members, and then training board members.
  • Sorkin Center: Providing a range of services from introductory sessions for prospective board members and capacity building for experienced boards to peer support for Executive Directors.
