The Wharton Club of the National Capital Region is pleased to announce the next meeting of our newest affinity group, the A.I. Affinity. This members-only group usually meets on the last Monday of each month at noon, and the format of the interactive discussion varies between hands-on demonstrations, group discussions, and occasional guest speakers. All club members are welcome, but there may be clear expectations for participation for select events.
In our last AI Affinity Group session, we discussed the challenges, successes, and lessons learned in adopting AI at both the individual and organizational levels. During a quick member poll, Agentic AI emerged as the topic of greatest interest.
So, the focus of our August 24 session will be Agentic AI.
During the first half of the session, we will explore two key areas:
1. Fundamentals of AI Agents
2. Weaving AI Agents into Business Workflows
Our first speaker will ground us in the fundamentals: what an AI agent is, how it is structured, the types of problems it can solve, the data it needs, and the operating guardrails and considerations required for responsible use.
Our second speaker will walk us through a real-world example, including the problem addressed, the workflow that was reimagined, how the agent was governed, and how change management was approached.
The second half of the session will be reserved for Q&A and peer discussion.
Attendees will walk away with:
• A clearer understanding of the anatomy of an AI agent
• Practical insight into how AI agents can be woven into business workflows
• Examples of candidate applications for Agentic AI
• A better appreciation of what it takes to design, govern, and implement an agentic workflow
Join us for a practical and timely conversation on one of the most important emerging areas of AI.
We will share contact information about attendees and A.I. Affinity group members so they may connect post event.
