Skills and Qualifications
I have been an active volunteer on the Wharton Club of the National Capital Region's finance committee since the start of this year. I've been working closely with the current Treasurer to help the Club develop a working budget with the goal of better tracking the club's revenue, overhead and event expenses. I've been able to draw on my experience building financial models to create a budget template that will be flexible & easy for the Board to keep up to date and actionable.
Diversity
As a brand marketer focused on the hospitality industry, I believe I'll bring a different experience & skill set to the Board. While three of the largest hospitality companies are headquartered here in the DMV, we often primarily associate the area with the government and non-profit sectors. I'd be able to offer the Board a different Alumni perspective and connections to a new sector.
Vision
As someone who moved to the DMV area without a lot of personal or professional connections, I've really valued the social events and educational programming that the club has provided. I'd like to continue to help the Club expand on their current efforts. I believe I can do that by not only assisting with creating the type of events and programs that our members value but by also continuing to help the club build the back-end infrastructure it needs to support its continued growth.
