Eric Winston is the President of the innovative new company, Winners Alliance. Winners Alliance is the group commercial arm of the Professional Tennis Players Association, the advocacy arm for professional tennis players. As President, Mr. Winston is responsible for running the daily business of Winners Alliance across the entirety of the platform. Since launch, Winners Alliance has already launched groundbreaking partnerships in tennis with Fanatics for trading cards and Tumi, the luxury luggage company.
Before Winners Alliance, Mr. Winston was the Chief Licensing Officer at OneTeam Partners and led transformational growth for men’s and women’s athletes across sports. He was responsible for growing and maximizing licensing revenue, procuring new rights holders, and scaling OneTeam’s college division.
Prior to OneTeam, Mr. Winston played in the NFL for 12 years. A third-round pick in the 2006 Draft, the University of Miami alum started 127 games on the offensive line for the Texans, Chiefs, Cardinals and Bengals. During his playing career, Mr. Winston was elected to three terms as NFLPA President serving for six years in that capacity.
A zealous advocate for player rights, Mr. Winston’s work has had an enduring mark on the long-term health and safety, financial literacy, and rights for men’s and women’s athletes. During his tenure at the NFLPA, he helped improve the day-to-day lives of NFL players by helping them better prepare for life after football, in terms of both finances and health. In 2020, Mr. Winston successfully led an effort to renegotiate the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, which was ratified by the board of representatives in March of 2020.
Mr. Winston earned an international finance and marketing degree at Miami. Since his retirement from the NFL, he graduated from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with an MBA.
