As adults, it’s easy for life to become all about the “main quest”—work, responsibilities, and getting things done. But as we discussed in previous Second Act meetings, that makes us unbalanced - neglecting our other areas of wealth - health and community, and yes fun. This month, we’re taking a side quest to rediscover the joy of play by learning mahjong, connecting with others, and making a little more room for fun and balance in our lives.
Join us for a fun, hands-on, 3-hour session to master Chinese Mahjong—a timeless game you’ll want to play again and again! Led by local alum and experienced instructor Jackie Luo (WG'01), this beginner-friendly workshop covers essential play and scoring rules, followed by guided practice games in groups of four.
Unlike American Mahjong, which requires purchasing a new hands card every year, Chinese Mahjong uses a few fixed rules to form a winning hand —no cards needed! Come relax, learn the strategies, and get ready to play.
