Jon Holtaway
is President of Atega Capital Management, LLC, a company he co-founded in May 2005. He also was co-founder of 1st Portfolio Holding Corporation, a fee-based financial services company, which opened in 2009 and was sold to WashingtonFirst Bankshares, in 2015 (WashingtonFirst sold to Sandy Spring Bancorp in 2018).  Jon is currently Director of Hawthorn Bancshares, Inc. (HWBK) a publicly-listed bank holding company.

Jon has been a bank investor and advisor since 1992 when he joined Danielson Associates, Inc. (merged with Ambassador Financial Group, Inc. in 2011), a Rockville, Maryland based firm where he was an Associate, Senior Vice President and Partner. His expertise includes merger advisory, equity valuation and strategic planning.

Jon has presented at bank industry conferences including the Pennsylvania Bankers Association and the Virginia Bankers Association. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School with a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in History. In 2013, he authored the book, The Growth Penalty: Unfinished Business, Banking and the American Recovery. He lives in Vienna, Virginia with his wife and three children.
