Vision
WCNCR was founded to bring together our area’s large and diverse Wharton community. The pandemic was an unexpected challenge for us this past year, but with the support and engagement of our members we were able to make a successful shift to virtual programming. Now that we are (hopefully) seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with vaccination coverage steadily increasing in the National Capital Region, one of the challenges for the next Board will be how to make a safe and gradual transition back to in-person events once it has been determined safe enough to do so. I hope to continue working with the Board on these broader issues, and also to engage young and recent alumni, through hosting targeted social/networking events and encouraging more young alumni volunteers to help build our community.

Additionally, a lot of WCNCR’s work takes place behind the scenes, whether it is responding to member inquiries, troubleshooting event signup glitches, or putting together newsletters. While I’m proud of the progress we have made in this area, there is always more to be done, and I hope to continue to work with the board to build an even more seamless user experience for our members.

Special Skills, Qualifications & Previous Board Experience

I am a member of the group of alums who launched the Wharton Club of the National Capital Region in 2019, and since then I have enjoyed serving on the WCNCR board in various capacities, including as Webmaster, Director of Young Alumni and Director of Communications. Prior to our shift to virtual programming last spring, I also initiated and hosted our monthly pub series, which I really look forward to returning to in the post-pandemic world! In addition to my board experience with WCNCR, I am on the board of a nonprofit film production studio and on an alumni committee for my undergraduate alma mater. Additionally, as a Wharton student, I held leadership roles in several student organizations, where I organized large social and speaker events, and gained relevant experience in marketing and communications (including email newsletters, websites, and social media marketing).
